133MHz 168-pin SDRAM memory module as fitted to Pentium III and early Pentium 4 systems. Can generally be replaced with generic non-branded memory, though optimum performance and reliability will be achieved by using memory that has been specified as compatible with your particular PC or laptop model.

This memory can be used to replace the existing memory in the following systems:
Pentium 60, 75, 90, 100, 120, 133, 166, 200, 233MHz;
Pentium II 233, 266, 300, 333, 350, 366, 400, 450MHz;
Pentium Celeron 266, 300, 333, 366, 400, 433, 466, 500, 533, 566, 600, 633, 667, 700, 750, 800, 850, 900, 1000, 1100MHz.
Pentum III 450, 500, 550, 600, 650, 700, 750, 800, 850, 1000, 1100, 1200, 1300, 1400MHz;

This memory can be used to add to (or replace) the existing memory in the following systems:
Pentium III (133MHz FSB) 733, 800, 866, 933MHz;
Pentium III “Tualatin” 1000MHz, 1133MHz;
Pentium 4 1400, 1500, 1600, 1700MHz.

At around the time of the Pentium 4 1.7GHz (1700MHz) processors, most motherboard manufacturers moved over to the new, faster DDR RAM slots.

Note that, because RAM is generally “backwards compatible”, it is theoretically possible to fit extra PC133 RAM into a system that already has PC100 RAM. However, incompatibilities between brands / types and occasional motherboard problems caused by mixed memory speeds means that this isn’t completely guaranteed and is, therefore, not advised in the context of this article.
