Here are some useful switches you can use when searching Google.



Site:

Using "site:" will show you all pages indexed by google under that particular URL. e.g. If you enter:



site:www.google.com



Google will show you all pages indexed of it's own site, probably over 10 million!!



allinanchor:

Using this operator will restrict your search to websites which are using your search keywords in the anchor text of their URL. Anchor text is the text which makes up the URL, i.e. This is the anchor text of my url



allintext:

Using this operator would bring back results to websites containing your search terms in the text of the page.



define:

A very useful switch, use "define:" to bring back the closest definitions for a search term form the web. e.g.



define: search engine
