Did you find the Sony programs in the installer cleanup tool listed above?

There should be some label or something on your computer. Or run this scan and post back what is listed under System Model: http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

It would be a good idea to open the case and clean it. Run with the case open to verify that all fans are working. This could very likely be a heat issue and that issue might just be dust or bad fans.
