I did manage to get my XP designed PC to work with Windows 98!
How I fixed the problem with my monitor only displaying 16 colors:
I used Aida32 to identify my graphics card. It turned out to be a ProsavageDDR. So I did a little googlin' and came up with this website:
http://www.s3graphics.com/en/resourc...re_archive.jsp
What I did was to install the drivers for my ProsavageDDR graphics card. But I HAD to install the drivers designed for Windows 98 and not the drivers designed to work with XP.
The file is here:

Once I installed those drivers, my monitor was able to display 32 bit colours again! It worked like a charm.
Regarding the audio problem I had before, I actually used
VIA AC97 Viny Audio (and not the program I had mentioned before on this thread). And after installing it my computer was able to play sound again. I was able to listen to my mp3's, listen to the audio in videos played on WMP and play some games with sound (I have yet to fully test the sound in several games I have).
So everything is fine, except that like I said before, my Plextor CD-R writer cannot write at all. I'm still working on that.
It appears that what I need is SOFTWARE to burn CD'S and not drivers. At the Plextor website they recommend me using Roxio cd burning software. But I only have the version of Roxio that works with Windows XP. After searching on the web, I discovered that I needed a version of Roxio that works and is compatible with Windows 98. And that version is "Easy CD & DVD Creator Ver.6"
It's a bit expensive. So I'm looking for more afordable options. I even got a free software to try and make my burner write cd's again, but it didn't work at all. So I'm hoping to get a hold of Roxio ver.6 and try it out.
Oh, and another problem is that I cannot use my HITACHI LG DVD player to watch dvd's on my computer. But it seems that I need to install PowerDVD to get things going on that front.
I know that most of this things I have fixed on my own (actually by searching for data on the net), but I still thank the people here for their support. Maybe someone else could be in the same predicament and use this experience for their benefit?
