Congratulations. You did what I was doing. There are machines which can be loaded with earlier drivers and work fine, and then there's some that just won't do it. It appears that you found the "compatable" drivers for that hardware.

Quite correct. Drivers just enable the hardware. To run certain functional capabilities of that hardware usually requires software. There's quite a few "generic" burning programs available on the net, a number of them "Freeware", but experimentation is required to see if they'll work with the hardware in question. Let us know if you can't find something compatable. Three or four heads thinking/looking are usually better than one. ;>)
