Okay, I'll have a look at that. Thanks.
In the meantime I figured a workaround that probably makes the job I had to do a little easier anyway.
1: Create text in Open Office (or Word), save as .doc to My Documents.
2: Move to My Pictures, change file type to .bmp.
3: Open in Paint and go to town! Which in my case, meant filling block letters, mostly.
