An update from last night.

I switched on this morning and ran the Sophos detection tool again.

One of the problems (PUA) seems to have gone now. That's the first time despite everything else that one of the items has gone. The scan now finds:

"Adware/PUA Trymedia (of type Other) detected"

"C:\Program Files\Common Files\PC Suite\Services\NclSync.dll
returned SAV interface error 0xa0040210: The file could not be accessed"

"Unknown error 0x80070017 decomposing C:\Documents and Settings\G.Read\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop\"


Oops - just seen that there has been a response.
