The beeps are your BIOS's attempts to tell you what the startup (or as the initial startup is known as, the POST - Power On Self test)

We need to know what BIOS your system is using ie AWARD - AMI - PHEONIX... the BIOS name will show on your monitor, if you can see it, which you obviously cant, so we need now to know the motherboard model - no guessing.

1. Click on my Name below HippyWarlock' to visit my site. Click on the Forum Button in the Nav bar on the LHS of the screen (ignore the rest of the site it's an FTP upload error by me)

2. Click 'Solutions: BIOS & Motherboard'

3. Click Understanding POST beeps & Messages

It sounds like an AMI BIOS ie:
1 long - 2 short Indicates a video error has occurred

Hence no graphics display. Check your card is seated correctly, your leads are secure and your card actually works.
