Thanks for your help. It seems to have solved the problem. I haven't been notified by McAfee Firewall that a exe from the temp directory has requested internet access. The symptoms have been removed, which "usually" means the problem is solved. I will definitely post again to this thread if the exe files pop up again. If not, I think we can safely assume that the exe files originated from ptask. Thanks again.

On another note, I was wondering if you knew a site where I might do some more research about ptask. Possibly a site where users can post feedback about suspected actions originating from specific spyware/malware/trojans and such. I'm curious to see if anyone else has reported this type of activity resulting from ptask.

I honestly thought it was I-WORM/SWEN. Oh well. All is well that ends well right?
