Yeah me to Kai. Here is my Minimalistic Desktop and distro. This is AntiX 8 Running Fluxbox on my IBM T23. It flies fast.

Dell has "off-lease" => dfsdirectsales

Try looking around there. Over the last couple years I've bought 3 Laptops (most recently Dell Latitude D620) from Dell Off Lease Canada for some really good prices. You can also get Desktops.
