Lightbulb Related Computer Experience

Hi everybody, I am studying to become a computer repair specialist, and was wondering, what else can I study that can be related to computer repair? For example, some nurses also take counseling or phychology courses along with there medical courses to improve on being a nurse, and stuff like that,

What else can I study thats related to computer repair and that can help me be a better computer repair tech? Thanks all for your advice

Re: Related Computer Experience

Hey

Well I would say counseling wouldn't be a bad thing either if your going to be repairing PC's!

Seriously though, too many techies only speak tech and not english, it would be a good idea to get familiar with communicating with people, unless of course you are already great at this. Being able to communicate problems or resolutions face to face and over the phone, clearly and precsely and also have some sales experience is very valuable.

Re: Related Computer Experience

Yep, you will find that is an essential skill if you want to get repeat work and get the job done possibly a lot quicker, especially if you work for yourself.

I'm an electrician by trade, and although one may consider it an allied trade, to be perfectly honest I've never really found anything I was taught during my apprenticeship, as being of much use to me as a couple of weeks after finishing my apprenticeship - I won the national lottery
