Re: Windows XP Service Pack 2

I've done it. Its a pain in the ass though because for some reason Windows Update won't work with a firewall with outbound protection. So I had to uninstall mine and install the Trend Micro Internet Security firewall which is ok.

I posted a sticky in Security about it just to remind folks that its not available via WU and AU.

Cool Re: Windows XP Service Pack 2

I did it yesterday (really early in the morning) and it's wonderful. I really like the new features, plus it made the D-A-L Online Hardware Scan work!
Fantabulicious!

Re: Windows XP Service Pack 2

I installed the network version on my stand alone Pro about 3 weeks ago with no problem. The only difference I notice is the startup takes about 20 seconds whereas before it took only a few. I have system sounds set for every action so I get like 20 seconds of ding and dongs and pings and things. Otherwise all is well!

I believe the home version (automatic update) went out on wednesday.
