Can you Spare a 2.5in HDD?
As I posted a response to someone about connecting Laptops, I have lost my 30gig XP Home drive from my laptop...Seized up like a Newbie infront of a crowd. I have used my Test JIg and everything else I have to see if I can jar it back to spinning (Current Drain should be less than 600ma max, I have 2.1 Amps!)
So, the question is again, Does anyone have a drive they are willing to part with for a price (Hopefully not too high) or at the least knows a place cheaper than I do for a 30gig notebook drive. (Cheapest price I have found in the States is 84 USD)

Hope you don't have any important data on their that you have lost. Its horrible when your hard drive just "goes". Its happened to me once.
Have you looked at Ebay. There are quite a few here.
Prices aren't that bad either.

Re: Can you Spare a 2.5in HDD?
Thanks Owen, I am looking through Ebay...I just have a slight problem with people I have never met selling something...Yall on the other hand I have read and feel I can trust yall better than someone from Ebay...I am not yet that desperate.
As far as the data, I had not backed up the data from my wife's school, Finance's and Email before it failed. I have a day old backup I will be able to restore from, however it doesnt have her class info and Studen loan E-paperwork she just received...I also have just found out from her the OE didnt backup the Emails...Not readable from the backup...(Approx 2Gig in Emails now lost on that machine!) I knew there was a Reason I didnt like OE.

OE is a pain in the arse for backups. I use Mozilla Thunderbird, you just backup the Profiles folder and your sorted. Same for Firefox, backup the Profiles folder and all your Bookmarks, Cookies, Homepage, Settings, etc.

Re: Can you Spare a 2.5in HDD?
I had used Netscape Communicator for the longest time but when I got my laptop I stated temporarily (never ends up being that) with OE until I could get Netscape put on. Now with Thunderbird and other I am going to switch. I generally keep my addresses backedup in Outlook in a PST that I can readlily access...but that went with that drive as well..I have 1 yr old PST with addresses to work from...
In all...Its been a fun time this weekend. The kind of fun my wife says only I could appreciate!
