Angry TV licence for PC's

I just read in the computer active magazine that the government want us to pay again for downloading BBC content on the net, so how will it work another fee for owning a PC or per download for the BBC content. This is to do with when the BBC's charter is renewed in 2006. from the wording of the report in computer active it seems like the government want it to be like the TV licence it will not matter if you use the BBC content just that you have the ability to get it that counts so you will have to pay.

you can blame this government for it but a new one will not change the ruling because you vote them into office they will just blame the present government for implementing it

Re: TV licence for PC's

I have just had my TV licence renewal......... If I renew before 31st I will save £5.50.......... It is so annoying £126.00 we pay that much for 2 channels....... SKY is much better value if you work it out per month but we still have to pay the BBC. Why should they have the monopoly?

Licence is the wrong word really. I think of it as more of a tax paid directly to the BBC.

We all, those with a TV anyway, pay £126 a year to the governemnt / BBC to enable to BBC to be in buisness.

It is a non commercial channel so all funding is direct from the public / government and from sales of programmes around the world.

Re: TV licence for PC's

Exactly, you don't have a licence you can't watch TV at all, that includes ITV C4 C5 and Sky!!

It's like Sky coming round to your house, "Oh you don't have Sky, right you can't watch TV and you're going to jail!"
