A week ago today this new born storm passed about 50 miles north of the island where I live. We got alot of rain | minor floods | limb breaking winds.
Just a brisk gale that sea-side people are used to.
As it slowly passed & started to grow there was that erie sense that
something was happening!
I'm sure by now you've seen Katrina's story. My on-line friend in Baton Rouge called today to let me know she was ok & her family was gathered.
Baton Rouge is like an hour away from New Orleans. She told me that whenever her friends got bored they would just drive to New Orleans.
Now they go scavenging for ice & water.
The population of Baton Rouge has doubled in the past 5 days.
Anyway just a vent...
Found this on-line Live Journal from a guy who's stayed in New Orleans & thought you might find it interesting.
