no new hardware pops up and I was told by dell not to run update or download anything from the windows thingie,because I would crash my computer.So I havent but have always wondered wtf would they have updates if you couldnt/shouldnt download them?!

it shouldnt crash your computer as long as it is working ok...

also, search for these files:
USBUI.DLL
USBMPHLP.PDR
USBAUTH.SYS
USBCCGP.SYS
USBD.SYS
USBHUB.SYS
USBNTMAP.SYS
USBPRINT.SYS
USBSTOR.SYS
USB8023.SYS
USBAUDIO.SYS
USBCAMD2.SYS
USBINTEL.SYS
USBSCAN.SYS
USBSER.SYS
USBMON.DLL
USBCAMD.SYS

(if you click search in a windows explorer window, you should find most of these)

please name the files you couldnt find

also, they may not have the .sys on th end, that depends on your settings
