probably minor prob 2 u guys but not me!!!
Hello, first off I believe my time is wrong,I'm on EST,so it's actually 7:32 am here.As you can tell I'm not computer savvy,AT ALL,but my Major prob is that I can no longer download pics from my camera(and ,Yes,it is digital).About a year and a half ago I got a 'worm' and had to call Dell for support, they did something,or rather told me how,to "get rid" of it in some kind of elaborAte manner,at least to me it was elaborate!Anyhow, now I can no longer get my pics from my camera,I have in the past been able to download the pics.I've tried to contact DELL,Microsoft, and Fuji film(my camera is a Finepix E510)to no avail, they can't or won't help because I don't have a extended contract, etc.I've tried to re-load the program, but now my comp. says it ,I believe the error that pops up is,"this system does not support MS-DOS/windows programs"...W T F,it used too!!!! Someone PLEASE,PLEASE H E L P me!
Thank You,Robin

Have you tried plugging the camera into another USB port to check the problem isn't with the port itself?
You shouldn't need to install the software to use the camera as windows should allow you to view the files on your camera and download them.

when you plug it in, does a drive (or two) cone up in "devices with removable staroage"?
also, do any other USB devices work?

Sorry, I think you missed spelled,my bad,no nothing shows up as far as removable storage. This is just frustrating as hell because when I used to be able to download, everything was pretty straight forward, plug in camera, turn it on and the computer did the rest!!!!!This is just such bull**** that DELL won't even help with problem when it didnt mess up until they started mucking with it!!!

Re: probably minor prob 2 u guys but not me!!!
this could be a problem with your drivers, what is the exact make+model of your dell (eg dell dinension 4200, optiplex gx260..)
