Recording studio (Dan might be able to help)

hi, we are thinking about going to a local recording studio to record my sisters violin, if we do it, we (I) will have to use the equipment (we dont get any trained staff)

I was wondering, do you think it is straight forward to use?

http://www.catalyst-studios.co.uk/id23.html <<there are some pictures of the equipment... it is only £16 for 4 hours so if i could get used to the equipment in an hour or 2 then have 2-3 hours of recording, burning to CD... what do you think?

The main put-off is the mixer, are they normally well-labelled and straight forward to use??

(We havnt got round to recording ourselves mainly because my room is too small)

to be fair the board normally has little labels, but in most cases do not make any sense to most people. as i guess you are only going to be recording the violin and nothing else some of the buttons you will not need.

I got trained up on some on the radio but nothing as elaborate as that, all i can say is ask the guy there, if there is one there to show you the basics.

ok thanks, I know the baisic controls of a simple mixer (2-4 channels) but i just thaught with it being rather large and a 32 channel mixer, it might have other things aswell.

It is actually £75 per day, the £4 an hour was for the rehersal room. We thaught it was a bit cheap!!! lol
