I am Considering creating a site for a friend who sells things (signs and graphics)
So he does graphics on shirts, billboards, vans.
I am thinking about a site for £4.99 a month- perhaps with an MySQL db behind it.
Im looking for suggestions on how to create/organise the db and what benefits it might have.
I'm guessing you're not a coder? Therefore, a script with a database included is for you. And as it's for a site that sells something, you're looking for a 'shop' script.
How proffessional does this have to be? A lot of people first starting out tend to use CafePress as the engine behind their site and modify the html to gain the look of the main website. That way, cafepress handle the printing and orders.
yep, im not a coder!
cafe press? ill look into it.
i no- im a secretive devil- dont want you stealing my ideas!
seriously though- i might just put up example pcitures and say "email for more details".
how much would this kind of thing cost?
You know, a lot of other people use ebay as a shop too - that way you're not having to set up your own payment system either. But, you'd have to produce your own products to sell via the shop where as cafepress produce the product and pay you commission
