Outlook 2003, new user, cannot find any archived emails

I have a Dell Dimension 2400, running XP, just started using Outlook 2003. I just auto archived my emails and when I open the archive folders, nothing is there. I also checked my husband's profile and nothing is there as well.

I must admit I followed the instructions on how to archive but didn't really follow what I was doing. I am computer savvy but need a bit of hand holding here.

Where did all my archived emails go. I clicked auto archive, and it seemed to put them in the archive.pst folder but there is nothing there. When I click on the open Outlook data file I see:
archive
Outlook
Outlook1

Anyone help me here?

I will access those links and look into it, frustrating!
Don't quite understand why the archive.pst folder is empty....

Hopefully I can get to the bottom of this one,
