When XP password changed Outlook forgets its own

This is a strange error-

Whenever I change the login password of a user on a stand alone machine it automatically blanks the password in outlook.

It doesn't even matter if the user is an administrator or not...

I have searched a lot for a solution to this problem, it appears there is a very similar problem where outlook forgets its password all the time- most of them revolve around a registry hack in the "Protected Storage System Provider" folder.

This however does not work for me, and I cannot seem to find an alternative solution where it only forgets the password when I change the login password.

I have also searched through the Local Security Settings but could not find anything.

I am using windows XP Pro and Outlook 2003.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Thanks
