Norton Internet Security 2006 was more problematic than earlier versions but, unfortunately, Norton Internet Security 2007 was even worse. I no longer install NIS 2007 for customers - I've had so much trouble with it that I only sell the 2006 version now. My various difficulties have led me to conclude that most problems lead to Symantec's suggestion of removing the software, rebooting and then re-installing the software again (which also means going online and downloading/installing all of the updates again so this can take the best part of an hour on some PCs as it often doesn't work properly first time!). However, without the installation source files, you won't be able to do that. Fortunately, a small proportion of problems are fixable with Symantec's online AutoFix Tool. Go to
www.symantec.com, enter the support area and run the tool to check/correct problems.
