Windows media player - copy files

Hi

My laptop is on its way out. I have 1000s of songs stored on Windows Media Player on it.

Where abouts would all the songs be saved on the harddrive?

How can i transfer it to my external hard drive? just drag an drop?
whats the location!?

Thanks
