word 2003 landscape

I print my documents on winXP from word 2003 on an HP1000 laserjet.
Usually my documents have equal marguns on both sides.
when printing on A4 in portrait format the outprint is OK.
however when printing in landscape, the the outprint moves sidewise and the margins on the left side of the paper are larger by about 2 cm, and on the right accordingly smaller.
what can be the problem and can it br corrected.
when printing on win98, word 97 such dudn't occur.
please advise
