Just wondering which software you guys/gals use to backup your systems.
I think it's about time i made one but i never bothered making one before.
Also.....Are there any free backup utilities worth their salt?.

Ohh. One last thing. I remember unlocking the backup utility in XP on my desktop but it was no good because i don't have a dvd writer to burn the copy.
Is it worth unlocking the facility on the laptop (with dvd/rw) to make a backup?.

I'jve tried a few free backup programs and I haven't found any I like, I use Norton for what little backing up I do. I have Norton Ghost. It looks like a good program but I haven't used it yet. I want to redo windows before I set it up. Sorry I'm not much help, but I would like to know if there is any good free backup programs also!

I just burn files to a CD, and keep them safe, I don't worry about my settings only takes a few minutes.

Try that, never used it before though.

I do not use any specific program although I have tried a couple. I usally burn everything and move it to a "burned" folder so I can keep track. Syncback is popular.

I'm quite a sad individual, really.

I make images of my HD using 'Ghost', in case of emergencies, and backup all data to other partitions on my HD, CD's and an 80GB external HD.....

 One hour to put everything back? Obviously, I am not using the correct method...It takes me days to put everything in place.
