Help with display 32 lcd

I just bought a philips 32 in LCD and am trying to hook it up to my pc. The TV doesn't have a PC input so I am trying to run through s-vid and it looks horrible. I can't figure out what resolution to use. None of them seem to work right. I'm not sure if this is because I am running thriugh s-vid.

So, I hooked up my DVI to an HDMI adapter and tried that. The picture looks much much better but I still couldn't get the resolution quite right. I think with some more tweeking I could get that to work, but the problem is everytime my PC go to the screen saver it scrambles the picture on the TV and I have to restart the comp.

I am not very knowledgeable on displays so I am definately gonna need some help. I have a Geforce fx 5700le graphics card.
