Intel(R) 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family directx upgrade

Hi, Im not an expert nor a noob, The thing is that I have this Video Card Intel(R) 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family (it's really problematic) well, I can play Good games like Half-Life 2 ep 1 till a certain point, then it crashes, gets me back to my desktop and shows a message like this:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program: hl2.exe (the directory where it is)
This application requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

and is the same thing for Need For Speed Most Wanted, well what I was wondering (after a few hours of search is that the DirectX of the hardware can be different than the software? is that so... how do I update the Hardware DirectX? I have 8.1 version (I saw it in the HL2 game, in options>video>advanced and at the bottom it says which DirectX I have. I have the Driver version 6.14.10.4543, Is this the latest? and if it is not which is the last one then?

I can't just buy another video card (like a PCI-Express or AGP) 'cuz I only have slots for Simple PCI (the old one) that is the reason I wanna deplete all the resources before I come to the conclussion that I have to change Computer (Due to the lack of a good video slot)

Just for you to notice, I have played Doom 3 really good (like 20 FPS and a little slower at certain points but nothing alarming) and in the page "can you run it?" says that I fail the test, does it means that I can't play it? and if that so then why can I play it? it is really confusing and I just want to get out of this doubt at once! Please Help me out! Thanks for your time and interest!

Re: Intel(R) 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family directx upgrade

Direct X 10 is Vista only.

This was the last version for Direct X 9.0c for XP:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

Still an onboard graphics chip will have a hard time but might as well have the latest DirectX.

Re: Intel(R) 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family directx upgrade

Go to start > Run... > dxdiag

The first page should have your proper DirectX version.
