I/o error 1785

Hi, Guys:

I am using a Compaq Presario 5240 that came with Windows 98. I have installed XP professional. Recently, while writing a screenplay using Movie Magic Screenwriter I backed up some work and the system refused to save my work to the diskette.

I am getting a message that states: I/O ERROR 1785.

Could you please let me know how I might correct this.
I would appreciate any assistance.
