Having a few issues with my laptop's screen (occasionally blacking out, receiving an error message), I decided to update the graphics driver.
The current driver is v 2.22, so I downloaded the latest driver (SiS UniVGA3 Graphics Driver v 3.73) from

1. Upon opening Setup, I was asked if I wanted to remove the old driver (recommended), I said yes, then shortly thereafter, I receive the following message:
"RUN DLL
error in sisinst.dll missing entry: uninstall"
2. So then I tried installing the new driver and choosing to
not remove the old driver during Setup. This seemed to work. The new driver was installed, the monitor was working fine, and the System Properties all registered that the new driver was active. However, I still wanted to go in to remove the old driver, so...
2. I went to Add/Remove Programs and uninstalled the old driver. Unfortunately, it did not uninstall just the old driver: it also removed the new driver (sigh). So then...
3. I had no graphics driver whatsoever, which is fine, I thought. I can just reinstall the new driver. I tried that and I am now getting this message:
InstFunc.dll
UpdateDriverForPlugandPlayDevices: Error
I am not sure what to do now. I could system restore to the point when both drivers were on the system. That seemed to be working fine. Any help would be appreciated!
