Computer no longer connects to internet...

Hello there everyone...

I noticed this topic discussed in one other thread but it was resolved and the "How'd they do that" wasn't posted. Here's my issue:

My PC, running Windoes XP and a cable internet connection, suddenly stopped connecting to the internet last night. I've tried all the basic tricks to get it to function again. The weird thing is my wireless still functions normally, as I'm using it right now to post this. The main computer just ceased to recognize the cable connection. Any ideas how to fix this?

Do you have a router that is wireless as well as cabled? Do you get any error messages eg: a network cable is unplugged etc.....?

Im Not too sure though but does your router show connectivity,if it does then do you get error,Page cannot be displayed when you launch Browser?
If you do then,you could disable your firewalls/anti viruses or else ...check with ISP settings for your router ..
