Re: Laptop Connection To Office N/work

Do you have an IT adminstrator in your company? It would be best to speak to them first as they may need to ensure your laptop is secure and clean of virii before allowing you to connect to the network.

They will also have the IP addressing details you will require (if their isn't a DHCP server running).

The basic answer is that you will need a network card in your laptop and access to either plug in to a hub/switch using an RJ45 network cable or use a wireless adaptor. You will then have to retrieve IP addressing from a DHCP server or manually set your IP, Subnet, Gateway and DNS servers. Lastly you may need to configure your workgroup or join an exisiting domain before you will be able to access network shares (if that is required).

Re: Laptop Connection To Office N/work

I have done everything as I'm supposed to, (I think!), but I can't see the other computers on the network and they can't see the laptop. Am I missing something out? I used the Network wizard but with no joy. Help!!!!!
