Need Help With Wireless Network

okay I have a problem, i just got a new wireless network [ d-link ] the problem is
i cannot play games i keep laging out. everytime i turn on a game my internet status says its low signal and drops to 12 mbps. anyone know how to fix this problem... is there a way i can go on the host computer and change the setting so my connection goes much faster than the host computer connection.

it may be the wireless router and your wireless card are only 54Mbps where as if you connect using an Ethernet cable you'll get 100Mbps.

it may be the site you're using is very busy

yeah can i change the setting from the host computer that the computer that is on wireless can recieve greater speed then jusst 54 mbps?

I doubt it most wireless card are only 54Mbps

do you have the same problems using the host computer?

no i dont it goes much faster my download is 15 kb per second and this is high speed internet that shouldnt be this way. Something must be wrong with the connection but im changin the connections i switchin the 2 computers... so this 1 will be the host computer and the other 1 will be wireless.

is your connection ADSL through the phone line?
have you checked the computers for spyware etc that may slow it down
