Angry =( I need major HELP.

Hm, i have a compaq with microsoft WE, another computer as VAIO, and another one thats a laptop with windows XP.
Heres the situation. my compaq has broadband modem with a linksys wireless connection attached to it so that the VAIO can connect to the internet as well. The VAIO is doing fine, great connection and all, but then i got this laptop.....and forgot how to connect it to the linksys wireless thingy. The different types of windows programs are messing me up, theres a lock (WEP) on our connection, the VAIO automatically connects to this compaq, but my laptop needs the WEP key still, and i dont know how to get it on the compaq. So i went to the VAIO (since it also uses windows XP) and got the WEP, i connected to this wireless connection, but it says it has a -limited or no connectivity- message. Im wondering if i got the wrong WEP key, theres nothing wrong with the laptop either, cause i can connect to public wireless connections at my library and it works fine. The connection signal is "very good", but i still cant get on the internet. I went to the troubleshooting device and it told me that the problem is because there isnt a web address assigned to the network by the network ..... like i really know what that means. plx help me
Thx a bunch

Re: =( I need major HELP.

Sorry no one has had any ideas here.

I myself am not familiar with such a setup.

You might try posting to this Network specific forum:

Re: =( I need major HELP.

You may want to log into the linkksys (modem - router). Log into linksys through internet browser "192.168.1.1" or what ever your network is using. Recheck if you are using router as DNS server or your PC's are using static IP's. Sounds like your laptop is connecting but not getting an IP. You can check this by double clicking network icon down by clock and hit support tab. If PC is not getting an IP it will be either 0.0.0.0 or a 169.0.0.0. range IP. Or go to start run, type in "cmd" the "ipconfig/all".

If your settings all look good I would suggest you start from scratch setting up WEP again.

Hope this kinda helps a bit !
