Question Double router port forwarding

Hi all,

I'm trying to get a port opened for uTorrent on my downstairs machine. Here's my setup:
Motorola SB5120 SURFboard Cable Modem >> Network Everywhere NR041 >> Linksys Wireless-G WRTS4G >> my computer. Note that I am connected to the Linksys by ethernet, not over wifi (although I can connect via wifi if that would make things easier. We have it set up downstairs for better signal strength and to split the ethernet to two rooms). Additionally, we ave another computer upstairs connected directly into the Network Everywhere.

I tried using portforwarding.com but seem to be stuck. I have the Network Everywhere set to 192.168.1.1, the Linksys to 192.168.1.2 and my computer to 192.168.1.209 (static). I tried forwarding the port (17402) on the Linksys for my computer's IP, and forwarding the port again on the Network everywhere for my Linksys' IP, but it doesn't work. I also tried forwarding both my computer's IP and the Linksys IP on the Network Everywhere, but it wouldn't let me.
I have turned off all firewall programs, still nothing.

So can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Thank you so much in advance!

Re: Double router port forwarding

I found a problem i was having was with my modem. If you can, get into your modem settings pages like you did with your router. When you are there try to either set both of your routers outside the DMZ. If that does not work try setting your modem to bridge mode.

If that fails, try just using one router and see how it goes. I have heard there may be problems with using more then 1 router hooked up together.

Good luck.
