Bluetooth communication problems

I'm not a technophobe, far from it in fact, so I hope I've posted in the correct forum

About a year ago I bought a Technika (Toshiba) Techblue1 Bluetooth USB dongle from Tesco. I never installed it until recently. During the installation I received a MS pop up advising me that the driver was not digitally signed and advising not to install or ignore the warning and install the device. I continued and installed the device and it works quite well with my Samsung mobile phone. The installation cd includes in the Minimum System requirements Windows 98/me/2000/XP The problem is that I cannot get any other devices particularly the BT Homehub to communicate or recognise the dongle. I would like to reduce the amount of peripherals connected by cable and would be grateful for any help, advice to achieve it.

Re: Bluetooth communication problems

I am afraid I cannot help you with your connectivity issue, but as far as the digital signature issue, do not worry about that, if you know the source of the product. Lack of digital signal simply means they did not pay Microsoft to test and assign a signature to the product.

Re: Bluetooth communication problems

Thank you for your reply and my apologies for not responding sooner. Contacted BT Broadband help who attempted a communication between the Hub and the dongle via an on line sharing session. They did not succeed either and have suggested that it may be neccesary to buy a replacement Bluetooth dongle and ensure that it is capable of communicating with the Home hub. It's worth a shot and if not successful it will be used for a seperate piece of kit. Watch this space.

Re: Bluetooth communication problems

Thanks for the reply. That would be typical of the phone company - it can't be their equipment even though yours seems to work fine with the Samsung.
