Question Monitor Bandwidth Speed Usage by Other Computers on LAN

Hello everyone!
I manage a Windows XP SP3 network of 10 computers that share one large DSL connection.
I have the need to monitor bandwidth speed (not used amount of traffic) usage by other computers on network.
I have to mention that there is no way for me to install some client type application on other computers, all i have is regular LAN access to them.
Is there a way to accomplish that? Any genius soft ideas or advices? Cause I've been looking around for some time, and did not see it possible.
Thanks a lot in advance.

Re: Monitor Bandwidth Speed Usage by Other Computers on LAN

Well you didn't tell us how all these computers connect to the modem. I assume a router, and at least one switch (besides that built into the router) or hub. WallWatcher currently supports collecting and analyzing logs from 100+ routers. If your router generates logs, this may be what you need - but it will take some studying to set up properly. There are many other products for network traffic monitoring, including hardware devices, most are not free and many are much more complex, and informative. Entering monitor home network traffic in Google reveals some options.

Yes, sorry, its no router, just: regular DSL modem > regular switch > all LAN computers

Well, that program may work. Do all these computers have Internet access?

Re: Monitor Bandwidth Speed Usage by Other Computers on LAN

Well, I think I would get a router - there are many with 8-ports. More ports and the price jumps. You can always attach the switch to one of the 8 router ports to expand the network.
