Please help
My boss has just given me his old lap top which works fine in the office where we are wirless. Bought the machine home plugged it in and in the task bar there is an icon of two computers with a red line throught them. So I click on this and I see Local Area Connection LAN or High Speed Network Cable unplugged Realtek RTL8139 and another for 1394 connection Lan or or High Speed Connected 1394 Net adapter I have click on both of these but still it wont find the network bearing in mind my daughters laptop is fine. In Run menu have typed services.msc and found wire less zero config selected automatic (and its is starting) clicked apply clicked ok gone back to the task bar but still no wirless icon. Been into control panel and selected wirless set up no joy there either. Lastley I have turn off my internet sec (Bit defender) then repeated all of the above but still to no avail. HELP.. PLEASE. does any one have any ideas?
