I have a dell lap tpo That has a 15" screen but when it cones on the viewing area is about 8" x 5" I have tryied to change by going to monitor but i can't seem to change it any advice?
Press the Function key (normally bottom left corner) and the CRT/LCD key (normally F5 or F8 I think) together. You might have to press them a couple of times.
It sounds like your Dell has got confused and is trying to output the graphics signal to an external monitor as well as your laptop's display panel. I've seen this a couple of times before and cycling through the 'CRT monitor/LCD panel/Both' switch with the Function/F5 keys has cured it.
