New RAM Upgrade - Help!

Hi,
I've bought some more ram for my pc, exactly the same as the piece already in there. My motherboard is a Giga-byte GA-7N400-L and the RAM is Crucial 256MB PC2700 (I've got two of these so it's 512Mb overall). They are in slots 1 and 3. My CPU is an AMD Sempron 2300+ running at 1.583GHz.
BUT when I put the new stick of RAM in and booted up, my WiFi adapter, Netgear WG311, will detect my network with full signal but won't connect to it.
Anyone know why?

Check that the drivers and firmware of the WiFi card & the router is up to date.

I think I've fixed it. I installed the Netgear software to connect to the network instead of using the Windows one.
