Checking Fuses?

I have a 21" CRT monitor that went out. Someone suggested it could be a fuse that is the problem. I would like to know if anyone knows how to check a fuse. It's a Viewsonic P810 monitor. I don't see anyplace on the back or anyplace outside to check a fuse. Is it something you need to take it apart to check, or would it need to be taken in to a shop to check it? Any help would be appreciated.
