Broadband connection

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this question.

I am having trouble with my Broadband connection. I use Supanet (www.supanet.com). Since the middle of last week I have been getting cut off..

I have spoken to Supanet and they don’t have a problem.

I don’t think the problem is on my system. My reasoning is this. If I disconnect everything and plug a normal phone into my incoming BT socket (without using any filter) all I get is the standard telephone dial tone. If I do this when Broadband is working I get noises on the line.

The problem started on Wednesday and I persuaded them to get BT to check the line. Everything improved on Friday and Saturday (away yesterday) but today everything has gone worse and about all I can get online is about 60 to 90 seconds.

Supanet are insisting that I try reinstalling their software and also trying a new modem. I have asked them what is the point if the Broadband signal on my line is not there but they are adamant that it could still be the modem or the software and will not do anything else until this has been tried. I have agreed to try it but I would like to know if I am right in my theory and that they are just feeding me bull**** . . . or could they be right?

Re: Broadband connection

There should be line noise without a filter. If it's your telephone company that provides the high speed feed, (mine provides it, but my ISP covers the cost with my subscription, my itemized phone bill shows this as High Speed Service = $0.00), ask them to check your line.
