Maxtor 3000LE won't open!!!! HELP!

The external hdd won't open, but it is recognized. The last time I used the external hdd was when I tried to transfer my files over to another external hdd. I had mistakenly selected everything and "cut" it without noticing that the hidden files weren't hidden. As you know, it remove the hidden files and disabled the external hdd.

I've tried attaching the unit as a slave, but nothing happened. I don't know if I was suppose to use a boot disk or not. Any case, nothing has worked so far. PLEASE HELP!!!!!
