Logitech X-530 5.1 surround sound speakers
I purchased the logitech speakers about a year ago just after i got my new dell pc, i installed the drivers for the speakers and all was fine, they didnt ask me for a key or anything.. a year later i format my pc and go to reinstall the drivers and it asks me for a cd key, the cd came in a paper wallet with the speakers in the box, no cd key anywhere.. on the disc it has P/N#FC396 but that isnt it, the cd is Creative Soundblaster Audigy Advanced MB? and i dunno what my sound card is i think its SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC lol as u can see im only a beginner on pc's .. please can someone help?

Re: Logitech X-530 5.1 surround sound speakers
i think the cd key it is asking for is for the Creative Soundblaster software. the drivers should be free.
maybe you can be more detailed by telling us specifically what's your sound card's name. i'm having problem finding the specific driver for your soundcard.
and also what is the error you get? when you try to play something are there sounds?

give this site and the drivers a try. hope it works.

Re: Logitech X-530 5.1 surround sound speakers
hi,
my sound cards name is SigmaTel Audio thats all it says.. sorry , and when i play music or whatever it plays fine just through the front 2 speakers and the other 3 dont work, i dont get a error.. when i go to install the drivers off the cd, it just says.. "i wish to purchase an activation key now" or "i have allready purchased a activation key and would like to re-activate it" then when i click on the 2nd one this comes up.. (i attached a pic but dont know if it worked, im new) then it wont let me install the software to make all speakers work without the activation key :S
i just dont see why i have to purchase a activation key for this when i have allready bought the speakers over a year ago and never had to put in a cd key then..
thanks

Re: Logitech X-530 5.1 surround sound speakers
ok, give this a shot.
Start > Control Panel > Sounds Speech and Audio Devices > Sounds and Audio Devices > under speaker settings, choose Advanced > under Speaker Setup choose 5.1 Surround Sound Speaker
as to your activation key, did the speakers come together with the Dell computer or did you buy them separately? what you said doesnt make much sense. there are no keys on the envelope? perhaps you can email Creative and ask them about this issue?
it would be totally preposterous if they ask you to re-buy the product.
a slim chance, but perhaps you have kept a copy of the receipt or some sort of proof of purchase?

Re: Logitech X-530 5.1 surround sound speakers
not sure if you've tried this, but just in case.
go Start > Control Panel > Sounds Speech and Audio Devices > Sounds and Audio Devices > under device volume click Advanced > Options > Properties > under Mixer device choose Output > click Playback > tick everything udner "Show the Following Volume Controls > Ok
now check if any of it is Muted.
and also, do you have any other sound control programs/device installed? for me i have Realtek High Def as well so my settings can be tweaked there.
hope you can fix it. all the best man.
