RAM not detected on Control panel- System

Hello there,
I just slotted in a DDR 256MB RAM into my mobo MS-6734.
I was on 512MB previously, so it should show 768MB of ram on Control Panel-System or on dxdiag but it only shows 512MB
Using CPU-Z, it was able to detect the total of 768.

More info about the troubleshooting before posting this
1:There's 2 RAM Slots on my mobo
2:I insert 512mb on slot 1 and 256mb on slot 2(CPU-Z shows 768, system shows 512)
3:I removed the 512mb and my computer can't boot up( 256MB on slot2)
4:I inserted 256mb on slot1 ( CPU-Z shows 256 the same as System)

So, what's the problem here, guys
Problem with my slot2? But It can be detected on CPU-Z
Thanks in advance

FYI: my motherboard does support up to 2gb memory, therefore there's nth wrong with the RAM

Re: RAM not detected on Control panel- System

Hi Deathman91, you've missed the last step of the logical troubleshooting process for this scenario You've tried the 512MB module in slot 1 and you've tried the 256MB module in slot 1 and in slot 2. This has proved that the 256MB does work. However, you need to finish the test by putting the 512MB module in slot 2. Some motherboards can be funny about having the largest or smallest module in the first slot.

Weird that CPU-Z sees it though

It alright now after re-inserting the module
