Power Calibration Error !!!

Hello,
my DVD burner works fine and always has burning DVD5 ( single layer).
I recently tried to burn a DVD9 (dual layer) which didnt start burn process just generated the error " power calibration error "

I have the latest firmware for my drive so its not that.
I can post the error log if it would help ??

Is the writer on its way out ??
as I said it burns single layer discs fine.
Thanks in advance

Could be. Could be dust build up around the lens too. You might pull the drive (after powering down AND unplugging the computer), opening the drive case and blasting the insides out with compressed air.

Another common fix is to disable service. Go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services. Scroll down and right click on IMAPI CD-Burning COM service, and select Properties. Then change the startup type to disable or manual.
