Toshiba laptop

this is most likely a hardware issue, determining what piece of hardware is where im at....

background- received this laptop because was "stepped on", lcd is cracked, no external defects, what is happening is I have got a d-sub cable to go to my flat screen to view what is happening with computer, boots up but gets to toshiba splash screen, where it asks f12 to enter boot or f2 something like that to enter probably bios or advanced menu i believe, press any button on key and will do nothing, has what looks like progress bar at the bottom that doesnt move or go any further, I have not yet pulled it apart to see any internal damaged parts, im guessing bad hard drive something along those lines, looking for help if anybody knows what might be going on? thanks

Re: Toshiba laptop

If the BIOS is not accessible the hard drive is not even in the equation yet.

Try an external keyboard.

Re: Toshiba laptop

thats what im thinkin, u may have bad keyboard element among other things. if the thing was "stepped" on, being a laptop, im guessin it did a lot more then damage the screen, thats just the only thing visible.
