"No Hard Drive Detected" ??

The IT department at my work recently replaced (6 days ago) the hard drive on my Dell Latitude 820 which was issued to me May 2007. The reason for the hard drive replacement according to I.T. was the laptop was running "to slow".

Two days ago I received an error message along the lines of not enough memory available for the memory installed". The laptop then shut down with the error message "DST Short Status Test, error code 1000-0141, message: No Hard Drive Detected. I performed the recommended F1, F2, and F12 functions, but still nothing ..

Any thoughts on getting the hard drive detected or booting the system? When they issued this laptop last May, NO CD was included from IT, only a computer case and the setup guide.

Thanks,
Visionary

Your IT department should be attempting the repair, not you. You can be held responsible for the unit if you attempt to work on it.
