Internet Explorer Downloading Difficulties !

When I try to download anything off the internet using internet explorer my browser just freezes. I cannot download anything what so ever. Anyone know how to help, pleeeeaassseee! I need to download !!!! The error contains:

Go to C:\DOCUME~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\ and whilst in the folder, click Edit> Select All and then press the delete key. Also empty your Internet Explorer Cache and delete all cookies (this can be done by opening Internet Explorer and clicking Tools> Internet Options).

you needd to uninstall any mcafee anti virus software. i just did it and my IE which used to take 30 seconds now is back working in a flash.
