This was copyed from my Mother who works as a security tech at an IT company
This machine was observed as being a zombie machine connected to a botnet and then the botnet controller commanded our customer's machine to download malware installer.exe at the time indicated below (in GMT). This malware appears to be some type of toolbar that is making someone somewhere money per install. The customer's machine is severely compromised and it was necessary to immediately suspend to protect customer's privacy/data and Cogeco network, it is recommended that customer change passwords after machine is clean.
Currently this brand new threat is only detected by a few anti-virus scanners, for example Kaspersky is detecting this as Trojan-Downloader.Win32.Agent.bdr however none of the big security companies (ie: Norton, Mcafee, F-Secure) are not yet. I have contacted F-Secure to get an update as to when definitions will be released but in the interim if customer's security services do not detect a threat suggest customer perform free online scan at
http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner
As you can see this is a big problem for all you Nortan,Mcafee,F-Secure Users ,i am sharing this with the general public out of good will i did not have to do this so enjoy this.
