Unhappy Computer freezes

My computer freezes when I'm viewing pictures and trying to navigate from one picture to another or when I try to enlarge the picture or view alternate views of the picture.
I need help?

Re: Computer freezes

Its not a new problem, but no one has been able to fix it, because it only happens when I go to certain websites. I own a bridal store, so I frequent many Bridal gown vendor sites.
I notice that it always happens when I visit Edenbridals.com, or Foreverbridals.com and a few others.
I'm assuming that Adobe Flash is the program used- I'm really not sure.
I use WindowsXP-2007

Re: Computer freezes

I've just looked at www.edenbridals.com (the other site appears to be not working just now) and I don't see any Flash coding in that web site - I think that all of the pictures are regular static standard JPG files on standard web pages. Because it's a web page, there shouldn't be any involvement from another application (Microsoft Paint, Windows Picture and Fax Viewer etc).

Maybe it's a problem with the web browser that you are using? I'm running Windows XP with Internet Explorer 6 SP1 and all looks fine to me. Which browser and version are you running? Windows XP comes with Internet Explorer 6 as standard but you might have upgraded to Internet Explorer 7 - you can check that by going to the 'Help' menu and then 'About Internet Explorer' (or whatever is relevant if you are using a completely different web browser application).

Re: Computer freezes

I have no issue with that site using IE8.

Can you define more completely what you mean by "freeze"?

Does IE7 freeze or your entire computer?

Do you have another browser to try? If not I'd suggest trying Chrome just to see if a difference exists.

Google Chrome - Download a new browser

Re: Computer freezes

Another suggestion may be to remove IE7 and re-install it (unfortunately, there seems to be no option to "repair" an IE7 installation, only to completely remove it).

BTW: Glad to be back Jephree! :-D

But you can "reset" it: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Reset.

Thanks for that Bill - can you tell that I've been avoiding IE7 as much as possible, lol? :-)

Re: Computer freezes

I don't know why - I think it is great - and IE8 is even better.
